Provincial Playdowns
[2008.02.05]
- Please note that Provincial Playdowns have started and will continue on through the month of February. These games, for the most part unless it is combined with a League Game, are CASH games for which you should be paid before the start of the game. To know if is is a Playdown game or not, you will see the type of game in your game assignment in League GM under the column Game Type.
- Normally there is a representative from Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) at each game to ensure that everything goes well, to collect the game sheet at the end, and so forth.
- Please also note that if there is a Game Incident to report that this is not to be done on-line like is usually done for a League Game, nor is an envelop obtained from the offending team, rather, just complete the back of the white copy immediately following the game and provide that to the representative from OWHA.
- Also, for your information, the pay rates are as follows:

Feb 1-3 Tournament Rules/Details

Below are rules for the upcoming tournaments and the information regarding parking at Carleton U for Friday. For the three tournaments, officials are to arrive 30 minutes before game time; games may also start earlier. Please make sure you are ready to go on the ice as soon as the Zamboni doors close or the departing teams have left the ice.
Carleton Operational Information
- Control Staff at Front Desk will issue room keys; No exceptions to key exchange requirement to obtain dressing room keys.
- Control Staff at Front Desk will issue parking passes for referees, Drivers must have ID to exchange, no exceptions. You will have to park your vehicle outside of Parking Lot P3, go to the Front Desk to get a parking pass, and then park your vehicle in Parking Lot P3. If you have a parking pass for Carleton and do not park in P3 you will be ticketed.
Plan extra minutes before game time on Friday for parking.

Game Incident Report Mailing Addresses

Here is the mailing address information for those that do not receive an envelope from the team of the offending player. Remember to mail the game sheet in within 48 hours and to fill in the Online Game Incident Report within 48 hours. Failure to do so will result in a fine of 2 points and $10.
When you submit the online GIR, you will receive a message on the screen stating that the form was submitting successfully as well an email within 5minutes of submitting the form with the GIR information. If you do not receive these messages resubmit!

The time for this month’s meeting has changed. It is now being held at 7:30 as opposed to 7. There will also be an informal social at the RA Fieldhouse after the meeting for those of you who wish to join us in some cheer.

Proud Official!

France Lapratte, one of our Ottawa officials, is 1 of 18 Canadian officials (both female and male) who has been assigned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to work at 8 different 2007-2008 IIH World Championships. France is 1 of 5 Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) officials assigned by IIHF to work at 4 different Women's World Championships.
France will be travelling to Harbin, China to participate in the World Women's Hockey Championshps! We are all very proud of her and she has worked hard to get this assigment. Way to go France - congratulations, good luck and have fun!

Mandatory Meeting

Mandatory Meeting has been reschedule from October 15th to October 22nd at the RA Centre - Courtside A at 7:00pm.
If you CANNOT attend a meeting, please email meetings@odwhra.com with a valid reason for not being able to attend.
Remember that assignment preferences will be given to officials who attend the ODWHRA meetings.

ODWHRA Junior/Senrio Referee Clinic

Here is some additional information regarding the clinic:
If you are no longer planning on taking this clinic please advise ASAP.
- The clinic will be held at the RA Centre, Courtside Room B and will run from 8:30 - 5:00pm
- Lunch will NOT be included as part of the clinic fee, but will be served at the Fieldhouse, there will be a choice of 3-4 items, we will have you choose first thing in the morning, and your lunch will be ready when you go to the Fieldhouse. You will be responsible for paying for your lunch. Please let me know before the clinic if you are planning on participating in this lunch so we can advise the Fieldhouse on numbers.
- The cost for the clinic is $65 for level 1 officials and level 2 officials who only want to do houseleague hockey; and $130 for level 2's wanting to be eligible for competitive levels of hockey, level 3's, 4's, and 5's. Please bring a cheque to the clinic made out to OWHA.
- Attached is a registration form, please print it off and have it filled out before you come to the clinic.

Both Senior and Junior Clinics will be offered on October 13th.
- In order to register for this clinic, please send an email to ric@odwhra.com and aric@odwhra.com to express your interest and let us know what Level of Official you are currently and/or if you are a NEW Official.
- Registration deadline is: October 5th or before if the clinic is full.
- The cost for the clinic is $65 for level 1 officials and level 2 officials who only want to do houseleague hockey; and $130 for level 2's wanting to be eligible for competitive levels of hockey, level 3's, 4's, and 5's. Please bring a cheque to the clinic made out to OWHA.
- We will provide further information pertaining to the day clinic as we finalize our registrations for the clinic and get closer to the date.
